Process Health Education
Process Health Education - As mentioned in the previous article, the basic principles of health education is a learning process. In the training process, there are three main issues, namely the question of input (input), process and output issue (out).
Input in the education of health problems related to learning objectives (target students) that individuals, groups or communities that have been investigated in a variety of environments.
The issue is the mechanism and the process of change interaction possibilities teijadinya (behavior) in the study subjects themselves. This process is carried out in connection with the mutual influence between factors, among others, the subject of teaching, learning (education or facilitator), methods and techniques of learning, study aids and materials or materials. Although the output is the result from the learning, namely, the ability or the modification of the behavior of the subjects studied. In the learning process can be described as follows:
Input (For Learning) -> Learning Process ....> Output (test)
Learning schedule
Some education experts classify the factors that affect the learning process into four main groups, namely:
- Material (study material)
- environment
- instrumental
- Subjects studied
Instrumental factor consists of hardware, such as school supplies and textbooks, and software (Software) like learning facility, training, organization, and so on. In this study, subjects' health education can be individuals, groups or communities.
Process health education refers to the systematic and planned approach to teaching individuals and groups about health-related topics. The process typically involves a series of steps designed to ensure that the education is effective in achieving its objectives. Here are the basic steps involved in process health education:
- Assessment: This step involves gathering information about the target audience, including their knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors related to the health topic being addressed. This information is used to tailor the education to the needs of the audience.
- Planning: In this step, the educator sets specific goals and objectives for the education, and selects appropriate teaching strategies and materials to achieve those goals.
- Implementation: This step involves delivering the education to the target audience using the selected strategies and materials. The educator may use a variety of teaching methods, such as lectures, discussions, hands-on activities, and multimedia presentations.
- Evaluation: This step involves assessing the effectiveness of the education in achieving its goals and objectives. The educator may use both formative and summative evaluations to gather feedback from the audience and determine whether the education was successful in changing knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors related to the health topic.
- Revision: Based on the evaluation results, the educator may revise the education to better meet the needs of the target audience and improve its effectiveness.
By following this process, health educators can ensure that their education is tailored to the needs of the target audience, uses effective teaching strategies and materials, and is evaluated to determine its effectiveness in achieving its goals.
