Concept of Health Education
The Concept of Health Education - Health education is the concept of education in health. In terms of education, health education is a practical teaching and learning practices. Therefore, the concept of health education is education that apply to the field of health.
The basic concept of education is a learning process. This means that in the learning process, appearing around the growth, development, or a change to a more mature, better and more mature in the individual, group or community.
This concept differs from the assumption that humans as social beings in their lives to achieve the values of community life always need the assistance of another person who has the advantage (more mature, more intelligent, more capable, more know well, and so on). To achieve these goals an individual, group or community can not be separated from learning.
Activity or process of learning can happen anywhere, anytime and by anyone. A person can be said to learn if there is a change in it, from not knowing to knowing, not being able to do something to do something. However, not all the changes that are caused by the study itself, for example, for development of a child can not go in order to be able to walk. This change does not arise from the learning process, but because of the process of maturity.
From this description it can be concluded that the learning activities that have the characteristics, namely:
- That learning is an activity that produces a change in individuals, groups, or people who are learning, actual and potential.
- The second function of the survey results is that the changes produced as new opportunities for a relatively long time.
- The third characteristic is that the change is due to the business and realized no chance.
Focusing on education starting from the concept, the idea of health education is also a process of learning to individuals, groups of people do not know about the health values to be aware of are not able to solve their own problems to be able to handle alone, and so on.
Based on the concept of health education and diagrams of hierarchy of needs of Maslow that health education can be defined as an organization or activity to help individuals, groups or communities in improving the ability of (behavior) it to achieve optimal health
In addition to the concepts of health education mentioned above, experts in health education also tried to set limits for health education vary according to their concepts about education.
